Psychiatric Medication Management for Co-occurring Disorders

Psychiatric Medication Management for Co-Occurring Disorders
At RiseNow Autism Innovations, we offer thoughtful and individualized psychiatric medication management for children, teens, and adults with autism who experience co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, sleep difficulties, mood disorders, or irritability.
Medication is never our first or only answer.
We view it as one helpful tool among many — used carefully when symptoms significantly affect daily life, school, work, or relationships. Our goal is always to combine medication with behavioral supports, parent coaching, and skills training for the best possible outcomes.
Medication management at RiseNow is provided by Richard D’Amato, CRNP, MSN, MBA. With over a decade of experience in mental health and autism care, Richard takes a careful, collaborative approach. He works closely with each individual and family to understand their unique needs, history, and goals before recommending any treatment.
What We Treat

We commonly help manage:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Sleep disturbances and insomnia
  • Mood disorders, including depression and emotional dysregulation
  • Irritability and aggression related to autism

Our Approach

Every treatment plan is personalized. We consider the person’s age, sensory profile, medical history, and specific symptoms. We use the lowest effective dose and schedule regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
All appointments can be completed virtually through secure telehealth or in-person. We also coordinate care with therapists, schools, and other providers when appropriate.
Important Information
Decisions about medication are always made together with the patient and family. We never pressure anyone to start or continue medication. Some individuals prefer to try non-medication strategies first, and we fully support that choice. When medication is used, our focus remains on safety, effectiveness, and improving quality of life.
Who This Service Is For
This service is available to anyone with autism who is struggling with co-occurring conditions that affect daily functioning — whether you are seeking help for a young child, a teenager, or an adult.
If you or your loved one has autism and additional challenges with attention, anxiety, sleep, mood, or emotional regulation, medication management may provide meaningful relief.
